In this class you will learn a variety of pattern cutting techniques which form the foundation of creating your dream patterns.
This course is for you if:
- you have drafted or bought a garment block but don’t know what to do with it.
- have spent time fitting garments and want to be able to modify them into different styles.
- are interested in learning pattern cutting but confused where to start
In this workshop you will learn:
- How to take a basic block or existing pattern and create a new style.
- How to manipulate darts to different positions.
- How to convert darts to seams and style lines like princess seams.
- How to convert darts to gathers or pleats
- What slash and spread means and how to use the technique to create fullness.
- How to check your pattern, add seam allowances and create details such as facings ready for sewing.
Using half scale blocks you will create a selection of sample patterns during the session.
