This workshop can be part of our ‘Intro to Sewing Workshop’ when booked with the ‘How to sew workshop’ or as a seperate class for those who can alreday use a machine.
In this workshop you will learn:
- Mark and cut fabric
- Make a zipped cushion
For experinced sewers – optional addition of piping or other trims

Skills needed to take this class…
None when taken as part of the Intro to sewing 2 part workshop.
for cushion workshop alone you must be able to use a sewing machine and have sewn seams.
Workshop includes…
- Some supporting written information to take home
- Use of studio equipment and tools.** (If you need to borrow a sewing machine for this session please let us know when you book.)
- Tea, Coffee, Juice
Materials required:
- 1/2 a metre of fabric to make your bag or cushion )more if making a cushion cover taller than 50cm). At least a medium quilting cotton weight up to lightweight soft furnishing fabrics such as cotton canvas.
- 1 cushion pad – this can be bought later as the cover can be make to a standard size.
- solo cushion workshop booking can alos by optional piping or trims.
