HOW TO USE A SEWING MACHINE

This workshop is a great way to try using a machine before doing a longer course, refresh old skills or to just learn the basics to get you started. You will learn how to use a machine and make samples of a few basic seams along with some tips to hopefully avoid common problems

You don’t need to have any equipment or a machine, but if  you do have a machine and want to learn how to use it you are welcome to bring it along.

In this workshop you will learn how to:

  • Thread a machine & wind a bobbin
  • Set the correct tension
  • Sew and finish seams
  • Troubleshoot common problems
  • Select appropriate needles and thread
